Popper and pencil popper
A floating surface lure. It spits, splashes and zig-zags like a fleeing baitfish.
Ten lure families that catch fish in UAE waters: what each one is, how to work it, when it shines, and which of our fish it catches. Pick one here and the trip planner builds the rod, line and colour around it.
Build my trip around a lure
A floating surface lure. It spits, splashes and zig-zags like a fleeing baitfish.

A hard bait with a lip. The lip makes it dive and wobble; a bigger lip dives deeper.

A jointed, life-size baitfish that glides wide from side to side.

A weighted head, silicone skirt and weed guard, built to crawl over the bottom.

A jig with a metal blade on the nose. It vibrates hard on a steady retrieve.

A wire arm with spinning blades over a skirted hook: flash and thump.

A slim bar of metal that casts a long way and sinks fast.
A flat, leaf-shaped jig that flutters and glides on the fall.
A hard head with a long skirt that smokes and pops in the prop wash.

A sub-surface lure that darts in a wide S just under the top.

Pick the lure for the depth the fish are holding at, then the colour for the light.
Match the light and the water, not your favourite colour. Clear and bright: look like the bait. Stained water or low light: stand out, by silhouette or by glow.
